Bugs Don't Like Them?
The old timers here in the Ozarks will tell you that they place Osage Apples in their closets and crawlspaces to chase off bugs, spiders and other crawling creatures however there is no scientific proof. We can't say whether this is true or not, but... since this web site has been up we have not seen any computer bugs nor web crawlers around *wink*

Osage Dye?
The wood sawdust from the Osage Tree can be used to make an Osage dye for clothing.

Osage Bows:
Osage Indians prized the strong, lustrous wood for making bows. Many custom bow makers still offer bows hand crafted from the Osage Tree. It is considered to be one of the finest woods for wooden bows.

Osage Tree Sexes???
Yep. There are actually male and female Osage Trees. The Apples are only found on the female trees. We have many groves of Osage trees here on the farm. Some have male and female trees mixed while other groves have only male trees.
